In October of 1958, Loren "Pete" Buell and Floyd Rash entered into a partnership and purchased Herman Criss Hardware, which was located at 101 East Main Street in Jasonville, Indiana. After the purchase, the store became known as Buell & Rash Hardware.

Buell & Rash Hardware sold General Electric appliances, furniture, bedding and LP tanks along with a complete line of hardware plumbing and electrical supplies. They did appliance repair, plumbing and electrical work with Floyd working service and Pete working inside the store. In the fall of 1965 Floyd bought Pete's remaining shares of the store and it was renamed Rash Hardware.

Shortly after Floyd's purchase, in 1967, Rash Hardware relocated to its present location at 523 East Main Street, in Jasonville.
